Newton Protocol NEWT

leashed AI agents that work your wallet only by the rules

💬 “Hand me a chore and I will run it for you, swap, lend, rebalance, all night if you like. But first you sign the slip that says exactly what I may touch. I keep proof that I never stepped past it. Trust me less; verify me more.”

💬 TL;DR
  • The idea: let AI agents run your DeFi tasks for you, but only under permissions you can audit.
  • The trick: sealed sessions plus math proofs, so an agent can prove it stayed inside your rules without exposing your whole plan.
  • Not a chain: NEWT is a token on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, not its own network.
  • Supply: fixed at 1 billion NEWT, all minted at the start, none added later.

📖 The Story

November 7, 2024. Magic Labs, the team behind the embedded ‘Magic’ wallet, unveiled a network called Newton with Polygon. Back then it was a chain-unification project: a way to stitch many wallets and chains together through Polygon's AggLayer. That was the first shape of the name.

Then the question changed. People had started letting AI bots trade and move money for them, and the bots needed control of the wallet to do it. Handing a piece of software the keys to your funds is a nervous way to live. Newton's builders pointed the project at that exact fear.

June 23, 2025. The NEWT token was announced, and it listed the next day through a Binance airdrop. By now Newton had become a verifiable-automation layer: a place where an AI agent acts only under a sealed permission, and can hand you a proof that it never broke the terms. The butler does the work; you keep the receipt.

So Newton is less a coin with a personality and more a careful set of rules wearing one. Its whole pitch is a single calm sentence: automate everything, but make the machine prove it behaved.

🧩 How it works

It runs as a loop that always returns to you. First you write the permission slip: this agent may swap up to this much, on these tokens, for this long, and nothing else. You hand that slip to the agent. The agent does the job inside a sealed box, a Trusted Execution Environment, so the work runs privately, and lands the action on-chain across Ethereum and BNB Chain. Then it produces a zero-knowledge proof, a piece of math that shows it obeyed every rule without revealing your full strategy, and that proof comes straight back to you. You stay the centre: you grant the leash, and the receipt returns to your hand.

🔁 You sign a 📝 scoped slip, the 🔏 agent acts sealed and on-chain, then a ✅ proof returns to you, the receipt closes the loop.

🌗 Light & Shadow

🌕 Light
  • Built for a real and growing worry: how to let bots act for you without surrendering your wallet
  • Backed by an experienced team, Magic Labs, whose wallet product has shipped to a large pool of apps and developers since 2018
  • Fixed supply of 1 billion NEWT with no ongoing minting, so the count never quietly grows (unlike coins that print new units every year)
🌑 Shadow
  • Young and unproven. The token only listed in mid-2025, so there is little track record to judge it by
  • The story has shifted once already, from a 2024 chain-unification network to a 2025 AI-agent layer, and the value depends on AI agents actually catching on
  • Heavy machinery (execution enclaves and zero-knowledge proofs) that few beginners can verify for themselves, so you are partly trusting that the proofs work as claimed
  • About 215 million of the billion circulated at launch; large locked tranches unlock into ~2029, which can add selling pressure

🧬 Evolution lineage

No blockchain fork here. Newton's family tree is by its maker, Magic Labs (CEO Sean Li): a sibling-by-creator of the Magic embedded wallet, grown out of the 2024 chain-unification network into the 2025 AI-agent protocol.

❓ FAQ

What is Newton Protocol?
It is a layer that lets AI agents do your DeFi tasks for you, but only under sealed permission slips you can check. The agent proves it stayed inside the rules you set, so you can automate on-chain finance without handing over your whole wallet. It was built by Magic Labs and branded Magic Newton.
Is NEWT its own blockchain?
No. NEWT is a token that lives on two existing chains, Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, not a brand-new network with its own miners or validators. Newton adds a verifiable permission layer on top of those chains rather than replacing them.
How many NEWT tokens are there?
The supply is fixed at 1 billion NEWT, all created at genesis with no ongoing minting. About 215 million were circulating at launch in June 2025, and the rest unlocks slowly on a vesting schedule running into around 2029.
What is NEWT used for?
NEWT pays the protocol's gas fees, is staked to help secure the network, pays into the model and service registry, rewards providers, and gives holders a vote in governance. (Information only, not investment advice.)
