November 5, 2021. FC Porto and Binance announced a partnership, and a new fan token went on sale. For two days, on November 5 and 6, supporters could buy PORTO on the Binance Launchpad for $1.00 a token. The sale raised about $4 million. PORTO was only the second sports fan token to launch this way on Binance, arriving right after Lazio's.
FC Porto is no small club to put on a token. It is one of Portugal's most decorated teams, with around thirty domestic league titles and two European Cup wins, and its supporters call it the Dragons, the Dragรตes. The token simply gave that already-loud fanbase a new way to lean in.
