edgeX EDGE

An exchange gladiator on Ethereum, wielding a fast blade and a ZK shield

๐ŸŽญ Swings as fast as a centralized exchange, then makes Ethereum sign off on every cut. Brilliant in the ring, bruised in the press.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œFast hands. Clean record. The orderbook fills you in a blink, and Ethereum keeps the receipt. People whispered about my supply this June. So look, that's why the proof exists.โ€

๐Ÿ’ฌ TL;DR
  • A futures exchange with centralized-exchange speed, but you hold your own coins the whole time.
  • Trades get folded into a zero-knowledge (ZK) proof and settled on Ethereum, so the books can't lie.
  • Young and bruised: on June 2, 2026 the EDGE price roughly halved in a day during an "insider supply" fight.

๐Ÿ“– The Story

Every trader knows the old curse: fast exchanges lock up your coins, safe ones crawl. In 2023 a young gladiator showed up swinging at exactly that. edgeX was raised by the Hong Kong trading house Amber Group, and it fought with both hands at once, a blade quick enough to fill orders like a centralized exchange, and a zero-knowledge (ZK) shield that hands every cut to Ethereum as receipt. For a while the crowd loved it. Then on June 2, 2026, the price cratered roughly 46% in a single day after investigator ZachXBT claimed a few insiders held most of the supply; edgeX swears it was outside manipulation. The duel over its name is still going.

๐Ÿงฉ How it works

edgeX works in two steps. First, it matches and fills orders very fast on an off-chain orderbook (just like a centralized exchange). Then it takes all those gathered trades and bundles them into a single zero-knowledge (ZK) proof, which gets verified and settled on Ethereum. It keeps the fast โ€œfillingโ€ and the safe โ€œprovingโ€ as two separate jobs. For settlement it uses StarkWare's StarkEx, a ZK rollup.

๐ŸŒ— Light & Shadow

๐ŸŒ• Light
  • Centralized-exchange speed without giving up your coins, so you stay in custody the whole time
  • Each trade settles on Ethereum behind a zero-knowledge proof, so the record is hard to fudge
  • Backed by Amber Group and Circle, it settles in native USDC (a dollar-pegged stablecoin)
  • Supply is hard-capped at 1 billion EDGE, with about 350 million circulating
๐ŸŒ‘ Shadow
  • That June 2026 crash (about -46% in a day) came from an "insider supply" dispute that's still unsettled (ZachXBT raised it; edgeX called it manipulation)
  • Born in 2023, it's a very young newcomer with little track record to lean on
  • This is a perpetual-futures (leverage) exchange, powerful but easy to get hurt on as a beginner
  • The headline speed numbers are mostly the project's own claims, so treat them as a starting point, not a guarantee

๐Ÿงฌ Evolution lineage

edgeX wasn't born by "forking" (cloning) anyone. It's a descendant of the "orderbook-based Perp DEX" family that uses StarkWare's StarkEx ZK rollup as its settlement layer. A sibling/cousin in the same family is dYdX (v3). It isn't its own chain but a protocol living on Ethereum L2, and it was incubated by Amber Group.

โ“ FAQ

What is edgeX (EDGE)?
It's an orderbook-based decentralized perpetual-futures exchange (Perp DEX). It fills orders fast like a centralized exchange, but you hold your own assets and trades are verified and settled on Ethereum. EDGE is that exchange's native token.
How can it be both fast and safe?
Order matching runs on a fast off-chain orderbook, while the results are bundled with StarkWare's StarkEx zero-knowledge (ZK) technology and verified and settled on Ethereum. It uses both a fast hand and a safe shield.
What happened in June 2026?
On June 2, 2026, the EDGE price fell about -46% in a single day. On-chain investigator ZachXBT raised concerns that "insiders seem to control most of the circulating supply," while edgeX pushed back, calling it market manipulation by outside parties. The dispute is unresolved, so this newcomer needs caution.
How many EDGE tokens are there?
The supply is hard-capped at 1 billion (1,000,000,000), not infinite. About 350 million are circulating right now. The token is used for fee discounts, staking, and governance.
